Become a Coach
Coaches are essential for teaching and developing players at every level of Bowls - the role of the coach ought not to be underestimated. It is recommended that all Clubs have at least one BDA recognised Coach and at least two ‘Play Bowls Activators’. If the club has 40+ members, we recommend having more than one BDA recognised Coach.
Training courses are provided under the ‘Coach Bowls’ banner and is the only bowls coaching system supported and funded by Bowls England.
Coach Bowls uses the UK Coaching Framework as a guideline for development, and its stated aim is to provide ‘a world class bowls coaching system for all’. For more details on Coach Bowls, including information on membership and training opportunities for coaches, go to: www.playbowls.org.
