Benevolent Funds

Bowls Leicestershire Men’s Benevolent Fund is a charity that works to recognise and support individual bowlers within the County. The Charitable Status was awarded in 1948. The Fund is used to grant a gift to necessitous men bowlers who are or have recently been members of a Club affiliated to Bowls Leicestershire. The Trustees, at their discretion may also make grants to necessitous dependents of deceased members in exceptional circumstances. The Fund is completely independent of any association affiliated to bowls and is solely dependent on donations for its finance. Voluntary donations are accepted from Clubs, individuals and from other sources that the Committee may adopt, including fund-raising events. The Fund operates all year round, so can we remind all Club Secretaries to advise the Men’s Benevolent Fund Secretary the name and details of any fellow members who may be unable to bowl through illness or being hospitalised during the year.
